Library CWI

I'm looking for books and articles on Co-Design in the library of the CWI now.

I tried the library of the VU as well but that gave a rather depressing result:

0 results for 'codesign'.

Literature

Yesterday and today I've been reading a lot of papers for my internship. My first result: there seems to be a lot of confusion in the literature about whether to write "co-design" or "codesign".

At the end of this week I hope to have at least 2 methods that I can use for my internship.

Tomorrow I'll go to the library of the CWI to find some books about Co-Design.

Meeting supervisors

This morning I had a meeting with all my supervisors for my internship. Ralf Lämmel came to Haarlem and he and Bert and Petra met each other for the first time.

Bert, Petra and Ralf.

It was an interesting meeting and they approved my project plan.

Internship assignment getting ready

The last few days my internship has been getting started. I'm working on the final version of my assignment and project plan, Friday I'll sent it to the Examencommissie.

My internship supervisor is dr. ing. Ralf Lämmel, an Assistant Professor here at the VU. My external supervisors are Bert Bos and Petra Eu ssen of Chess-iT.

The internship is about development methods that combine the design of hardware and software.

Internship status

Now I'm done with the test on Formal Methods I can finally start with my internship.

I just spoke to my coach at Chess and we agreed on an assignment. It's a different than the previous one -- it will be more about the process of Software Engineering, less about hardware. So I won't be working with the SHAM. I like the assignment though.

Next Tuesday I'll go to the VU to find a university teacher who will help me with the internship.

Back to work!

I'm happy I'm at Chess again, and that I can start with my internship.

I have 50 e-mails in my inbox and there are many people I want to talk to today so it'll be a busy day. The coffee is as nice as always.

Back from Progress 2002

Just came back from Utrecht. I saw four lectures of different companies all working with embedded technology, and on the open questions they still face. The one I liked the most was about automatic vehicles, steered electronically.

The afternoon sessions were more commercially oriented, not so interesting for me personally now. I took the proceedings from this year and 2001; there were some articles worth reading.

Progress 2002

Today I'll be at Progress 2002 in the Jaarbeurs in Utrecht. It's a day on embedded systems; there'll be a number of lectures and workshops.

Although their website is pretty bad the agenda looks very promising with interesting subjects. Some of them are about Formal Methods, the subject I just did an exam on yesterday. My teacher will also give a lecture.

Studying

Today I'm staying home. I'm studying for Formele Methoden, and it's hard to concentrate on the books at Chess.

Tonight I'll play games at 999 Games.
