Bringing Daniël

To Hungary by car.I was planning to get up very early and be at Amsterdam Amstel at 7:30 o'clock this morning, to say goodbye to Daniël and have some coffee together.

Daniël called me yesterday, and told me that he was at a concert (Sinnead O'Connor). His surprise: he was not going to travel by bus today. Turns out that Jerry offered him to bring him to Hungary by car!

So they're on their way now - Jerry, Marjolein and Daniël. They plan on traveling to Hungary non-stop -- well, with small breaks of course but without spending the night somewhere. Jerry asked what my plans for today and the weekend were. I must say I was tempted but there is a lot of work to do; another time.

According to Geostar the distance between Amsterdam and Tiszaföldvár is 1535 km. It takes around 14-15 hours by car.

Well, we didn't make it in 15 hours! In Austria we got into a terrible snowstorm! We could hardly see anything, only crashed cars at the side of the road! We even slipped a few times with our car. Nobody got hurt! Then we decide to stop for the night in a hotel. We slept very well!

Daniel has a very nice house in Hungary! A very sweet girlfriend (Erica) and her sister Irene. The dog is extremely friendly and there is also a perfect parking place for the car! We had two very nice days with a lot of dancing and nice breakfasts!

The way back indeed took only 15 hours, we just arrived. Can't wait to go back... Perhaps in summer...?

Yeah we saw snow-storms on the news this weekend... but somehow you never think this kind of things happen to people you know. It's good to hear that you didn't have to sleep in your car or something.
