Bringing Daniël

To Hungary by car.I was planning to get up very early and be at Amsterdam Amstel at 7:30 o'clock this morning, to say goodbye to Daniël and have some coffee together.

Daniël called me yesterday, and told me that he was at a concert (Sinnead O'Connor). His surprise: he was not going to travel by bus today. Turns out that Jerry offered him to bring him to Hungary by car!

So they're on their way now - Jerry, Marjolein and Daniël. They plan on traveling to Hungary non-stop -- well, with small breaks of course but without spending the night somewhere. Jerry asked what my plans for today and the weekend were. I must say I was tempted but there is a lot of work to do; another time.

According to Geostar the distance between Amsterdam and Tiszaföldvár is 1535 km. It takes around 14-15 hours by car.

Firebrigade Haarlem online

I wondered if I could find yesterdays waking up on the internet. After all, even Middenmeer has their firebrigade online.

And yes, there is a website of the Haarlem firebrigade too. Yesterday's event is not online yet, but they are many pictures of other fires they worked on. They coolest feature of the site, one that Middenmeer's doesn't have, is the life audio stream of their scanner.

President Bush.Didn't see the State of the Union live -- it was a little too early for that. In these uncertain times it's good to stay up-to-date; it's nice that the transcript of the speech is online.

Yesterday evening we had dinner at Zoltan's place. Daniel cooked, but rather unusual it wasn't spicey at all.

Fire at the neighbours

View from the window this morning.There was a man on the news yesterday who is always making pictures from his window. He lives at the river Amstel in Amsterdam, and now there was an exposition of some of his best photos. He made pictures of many events such as the Gayparade and the marriage of Willem-Alexander and Maxima.

He is a really good photographer and made very nice pictures, so that's not comparable to my 'work'. But I recognized that you can see much about the world from your own window.<

In the past we saw the flag on the Adriaan on the day of the funeral of HRH Prince Claus, Sinterklaas arriving in Haarlem or the prison that was being cleaned.
