LPF

On teletext this morning:

Teletext picture, with title: LPF-bestuur blijft om 'ongedierte'

"As long as this kind of eruptions happen in the vulcano that is the LPF, we'll stay. For the LPF, it is as with vermin. Just when you think you've killed them all, they will come back again." -- Hammerstein, LPF board member.

Ettie's graduation

Added this picture June 28.Yesterday afternoon we went to Delft, to Ettie's graduation ceremony. I took some pictures but I can't retrieve them from the camera yet.

The teachers said Ettie was a very good student and very motivated. Good girl! :)

How do you sleep...

... and what does it say about you?

Very nice background music.

Pension

I just filled in the forms for my pension. A few months and 40 years from now (at least).

Protocol validation

I'm working on the homework assignment for Formal Methods. I'll validate a network protocol, to verify it does what it should do. It is a relatively easy protocol ("sliding window") but the validation is rather complex. Make's it interesting.

There is no radio in the bedroom (where I'm working), but I discovered ShoutCast, which has a lot of online radio stations. The nice thing about it is that the quality is very good.

After this assignment there's a test on Monday, after which I'm done with all my courses. Then I'll have another few weeks to finish my internship paper.

Ettie graduated

It is not a surprise that Ettie is having a good day: today she completed her internship at Oranjewoud.

She had two really good marks, both from the company and the school: an 8.5 and a 9 respectively. Congratulations!

Center Parcs

Picture of a slide.Yesterday we spent the day in Center Parcs. My parents celebrated their 30th anniversary, and the six of us went to 'de Eemhof'. There's a huge swimming pool there, and we were swimming all day.

It was a very nice day; the weather was great and we had a really good time together. Later we had dinner in an Italian restaurant in Nijkerk. The pizza there was the best I had in years.

Power blackout

Yesterday evening the light was getting dim for a moment. I thought that it was perhaps time to replace the lightbulb. The TV didn't work anymore either, there was no signal.

This morning I arrived early at Chess. There was a small note: "Due to the powerglitch yesterday evening, the network is not available yet; we're working on it". Obviously, when you read this message the network works again. I'm happy that I don't need the network to work on our project, otherwise I would have gotten here early for nothing. The only thing I really missed is music; usually I listen to the radio through internet.
