Power blackout
Yesterday evening the light was getting dim for a moment. I thought that it was perhaps time to replace the lightbulb. The TV didn't work anymore either, there was no signal.
This morning I arrived early at Chess. There was a small note: "Due to the powerglitch yesterday evening, the network is not available yet; we're working on it". Obviously, when you read this message the network works again. I'm happy that I don't need the network to work on our project, otherwise I would have gotten here early for nothing. The only thing I really missed is music; usually I listen to the radio through internet.

Hi Bert,
Took me some time -- Cisco commands are not very well-known to me ;) But the problem was more severe. A switch that connected our building to the main building of Chess broke down. So there was no DHCP server reachable, no file servers either. This obviously made working for some people quite difficult, but luckily enough my laptop is enough to program with.
