Grown up Soda, or… Gus.
We saw this in a supermarket and gave it a try. “Gus is the first soda made truly for adult palates. It’s less sweet than typical flavored sodas, juice drinks and bottled teas.”

GuS[s] is great! In addition to the relatively low sugar content, they have a great selection of flavors.
If you end up liking lower-sugar/interesting-flavor soda, I highly recommend brewing your own syrups. Hommeade ginger ale http://biology.clc.uc.edu/Fankhauser/Cheese/Ginger_Ale_Ag0.htm is fun too.

That would be an interesting project!
Ginger ale is not really my thing, but homemade syrup sounds fun to do.
