Unknown herb (2)
Well, the mystery is getting closer to a solution -- the unknown plant has its first flower. And indeed, it looks like a pepper or paprika plant like many readers suggested two months ago.
Perhaps I should start placing it on the balcony, for some direct sunlight. At the other hand, it's doing quite well in the study room.

plants that are grown in house will suffer severe sunburn when paced on a balcony. the plant has to get used to direct sun. place it in a shady place. you could just let it inside.
Let op, planten die binnen opgroeien kunnen niet tegen de zon. ze verbranden als ze buiten in de zon gezet worden. laat de plant voorzichtig wennen in de schaduw om af te harden.
Maar laat de plant rustig binnen staan. Je moet zelf de bloemen bestuiven. dat kan met een penseeltje dat je in de bloem steekt en beweegt zodat er stuifmeel op het penseeltje komt. doe dat daarna met datzelfde penseeltje bij de andere bloemen, zonder het eerst schoon te maken.

Hmmm, good point. The sun here is already very sharp -- and it will get much sharper in the next few weeks.
Will it have fruits even if it grows indoors?

The story with the brushes is about the work mostly done by bees and caterpillars (or the wind) with regard to flowers and this applying brushes to flowers has, hopefully, as a result the growing of peppers or paprika's. I cannot explain this more openly, without offending your 16- visitors. If they don't understand this, they should ask their parents for an explanation.

Paprika; ik heb er vorig jaar in het najaar eentje naar binnen gehaald om de paprika's wat groter te laten groeien ipv bevriezen. Er zaten toen ook nog bloemetjes aan en ik heb geprobeerd ze te bevruchten op de manier hierboven beschreven, maar het is niet gelukt.
