Death penalty for juveniles

The U.S. Supreme Court voted Tuesday to abolish the death penalty for juveniles, people under 18 years old:

"In concluding that the death penalty for minors is cruel and unusual punishment, the court cited a "national consensus" against the practice, along with medical and social-science evidence that teenagers are too immature to be held accountable for their crimes to the same extent as adults."

A good thing in my opinion.

Hoera voor de beschaving.

Hurray for civilization.
A conservative member of Dutch parliament tried to put death penalty on the public agenda. Great silence was the answer.

I think it's a good thing too. Though I lived through the terror the snipers brought to this area, I still think Lee Malvo is too young to get the death penalty. His mentor though... well, I'd like to send him off to Iraq and give him to those barbarians that chop off heads.
