At my work many people use AOL Messenger (or "AIM") to communicate with colleagues in other offices.
This weekend someone told me that she couldn't sent me any messages anymore, and when I came in the office I experienced the same: my account seems to have been blocked by AOL. I have really no idea what could have caused it, and it's rather annoying. I'd rather not create a new account and have to add my name to everybody's buddy list again so I'm trying to contact AOL but that's not been very succesful so far.
For now: my MSN Messenger account is guusbosman@hotmail.com.

Update: I have a new AIM account name. Personally I prefer MSN above AIM, but if you'd like to contact me by AIM just send me an e-mail.

Having the same issue. I've been using my AIM account for nearly 10 years and all of a sudden I can't log in today. I spend half my day uselessly calling into AOL and ended up angry and defeated. I did rather enjoy irritaating all the call center agents who talked to me. I was viscious and got worse every time they quoted the same script to me; "AIM is a free service and AOL does not support it. Go to www.aim.com."
One notye of hope for me left - a particularly helpful drone gave me a Netscape number for the AIM division: 877-224-4265.
It's busy - has been for an hour - but I'll keep trying.

I have 3 accounts I use.
Work & Personal.
All three were blocked starting Monday.
I too have not had any help from AOL or AIM...

Screen Names that were previously used on AOL but have been cancelled or suspended, can no longer be used on AIM. This includes both master accounts and sub-accounts. In order to continue using this Screen Name on AIM, please reactivate the account on AOL.

why cant i sign on my aim it says that the sign on has been blocked i tried everthing but it still said sign on has been blocked what do i do i need to talk to my friends on my computer i am missing out on all of the kool things help me!!!!!!!

Just two days ago I found that my screen name won't let me sign on. It says "sign on blocked." I've gone to aol.com and tried different things such as deleting IM from my computer and re-installing it, but it still won't work. I can't sign on another computer with my sn either. Omg!!someone hacked into my aim sn and blocked me out, and my sn is very important and I don't wanna change it cuz I have a lot of important stuff in there...please please help me
