After a long day in a noisy lab, it was great to go for a run in Umstead Park. Jim and I ran the Loblolly trail; turned around after 16 minutes. Great run.

Sunday was a travel day. In the morning we went for another long walk along the Delaware & Raritan canal. We packed our bags, made some sandwiches and drove from Somerset, NJ to Alexandria, VA. We went to Sasha's place and moved her belongings to her new house for the summer.

Through a friend Sasha had found a new place to stay, much closer to her work. And it's definitely a great location: it's in the middle of Georgetown, a few minutes walking away from M-street.

Monday morning early I drove to Durham. I usually have several conference calls on Monday mornings and taking them from the car worked well. I drove to my office in Raleigh. In the evening I had dinner with Belen, Esteban and Hernan in Durham; that was a great way of coming home to North Carolina.

A quiet street in Georgetown.

Things are pretty hectic around here. I'll be in New Jersey for a project for a few more weeks, and Sasha started her internship in Washington DC three weeks ago. This weekend she's moving to another apartment (much closer to work) so right now we have 4 homes that we could sleep in, in 3 different cities and 3 different states.

Obviously, this involves a lot of travel. Yesterday evening we met in Philadelphia where we had dinner in the train station and then went back home to Somerset. Today we spent a few hours arranging tickets and itineraries for the next few weeks, since we both have to travel for work as well. Tomorrow we're leaving for Washington DC, and I'll then continue to Durham, NC. It's fun to travel, and to see so many different places.

In the afternoon we had time to relax and we went for a long walk/run along the Delaware & Raritan canal, which was great. The weather is beautiful here; very sunny. Then we spend the rest of the late afternoon at the pool, and had a lazy barbecue poolside for dinner.

Philadelphia train station last night.

The train was late. Originally we had planned to meet in Trenton, PA, but since the delay was almost 90 minutes I decided to pick Sasha up a stop earlier.

Had a nice run on the towpath, the same place where Sasha and I walked a few days ago. Ran for 30 minutes one way, then on the way back I had to take several breaks. I'm out of shape! Can't even run for an hour! Oh well.

I don't remember much of Monday's run, but it was Memorial Day so I ran in the middle of the day. I felt strong, apparently, because I did the course in 35:55.

Sasha took the train from Washington DC to Trenton yesterday, where I picked her up. This weekend is Memorial Day weekend and we're in Somerset, NJ.

It had been 17 days or so since we had dinner at home together, so it was fun to cook and make an elaborate meal together.

Yesterday was a warm and humid day in Somerset. It felt like North Carolina, and I'm clearly not in a good shape to run in this weather. My usual course took 39 minutes.

Today my back hurts -- I pushed it hard!

Run went okay. Low energy, maybe because I didn't eat much today.

Went for a run with NCRC tonight. Boy, I'm out of shape! It was only 5 miles on a trail but it felt very tough. I haven't run enough on hills, I think; New Jersey of course is 'flat as pancakes'.

Great run, great group. Small turnout, only 15 people.

The Google developer's event is going on right now: lots of HTML5 and several new and improved Google APIs. The event is held in San Francisco, but I've been following the news coming out.

I especially liked the announcement of the Google Font Directory, a directory of high quality open source fonts. They can be included in commercial and non-commercial projects alike.

Non-Latin fonts, such as Cyrillic for Bulgarian, are not yet supported but this is coming soon, according to the blog post.

It's very easy to use. Add the following to your HTML section:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Font+Name">

and now you can use 'Font Name' the standard way:

<div style="font-family: 'Font Name', serif;">Your text</div>
