Run after work

We woke up at 6.00 am and had to get up at 6.45 to feed the boys, so I was at work fairly early. I left at 4.45 pm and went for a run which was great. I ran faster than I have in a while.

A fox on 14th Street

During my runs, which are usually around 7.00 pm, I've seen a fox family who made their den in a yard on 14th Street. Yesterday we all went for a walk after dinner to see the foxes. It was a nice walk and we were joined by Kelly for a while. We also saw a little bit of the game at Washington Lee. Then on our way back we saw the foxes, at least the parents.

Sunday night run

I ran a little bit faster Sunday night, even though it felt as if I was more tired. The seasonal allergies are in full swing, lots of pollen.

Family picture

Two weeks ago we took our first family picture.

The boys are 11 weeks old today.

Friday night run

I worked from home on Friday and got a little stir-crazy... but a run is a wonderful way of taking care of that.

Tummy time

Dr. Kim, our pediatrician, told us to make sure the boys get enough tummy time, so we've started a regime for them.

Before their feeding they now need to spend some time on their tummies. Just like Nora, they hate that. Adrian finds it a little bit easier than Leo who complains loudly but neither of them particularly enjoy it.

Smiling

The boys started to smile a week or three ago, and they are smiling more and more.

Yesterday evening when I came home they were sitting in their bouncy chairs downstairs. I sat down in front of them and started talking with them -- they loved that and rewarded me with big smiles. Then I read them their first Nijntje book, Nijntje in de speeltuin.

Crying in the grocery store

After a lazy morning we left around noon for a nice long walk. We talked to so many people -- Eric, Lowell, Karin, several other people we don't know.

On the way back we passed by the Belgian bakery and bought bread, and then we went to Trader Joe's. Adrian started crying when we entered the store. It's unusual for the boys to really cry in the stroller but Adrian was definitely unhappy. People tend to look at the big stroller -- even more when there is crying coming from it, haha. We quickly wrapped up our grocery shopping. Nora also cried when the didn't get any stickers -- something she has come to expect from this store, clearly -- so we went back inside and the cashier gladly gave her some ("there's no need to cry, sweetie").

A few minutes after we left the store Adrian fell asleep again.

On my run last night I saw 6 little foxes on 14th Street near Washington-Lee. Amazing.
