Early early

I got a call from work at 5.30 am. After I fixed the issue -- I decided against waking up others and just to do it myself -- I went for a run before breakfast. Felt great.

Long run on Monday afternoon

We woke up at 6.45 am this morning and I was at work around 8.10 am. So I left a little earlier than usual and decided to do my long run. I held back a little bit on Saturday and it just felt like the right thing to do a long run tonight. I'm very tired now but it feels great.

The bees are gone

Did a slow run yesterday since it was very warm and I didn't want to get too tired for our date night. The bees are now gone, looks like the project was successful.

With this run I crossed the halfway mark -- 190 miles this year -- to the minimum of 379 miles. That's the mileage from the year Nora was born and I'd like to beat that.

No watch

Jaap and Mieke are here now so it was easy to get out of the house for a quick run. I cut my run short since dinner was almost ready, but still did 3.8 miles. Couldn't properly reset my watch so no time recording.

Rotavirus vaccine for Adrian

Yesterday afternoon Adrian and I went to the pediatrician for his rotavirus vaccine. He couldn't get that at the four months checkup.

This vaccine is given orally so there was no crying. It was nice to spend some time the two of us.

Run during my week off

My week off is coming to an end. It's been quite productive -- and of course it was great to spend time with Leo and Adrian. When they were asleep I took care of the house etc. I also ran today and on Tuesday. Feels good.

"Are they twins?"

When we go out for a walk or when we're in the grocery store we get a lot of friendly comments about our big stroller. "Are they twins?" "How old are they?" "Are they identical?". It's special to see baby twins, that's for sure.

A few weeks ago I was in a store and behind me an older man asked: "excuse me, in which aisle are the babies?" (implying that he wanted to buy some babies). I didn't skip a beat and said: "oh, right there and they're on sale -- two for the price of one!".

To be honest, I had read such a joke earlier on Facebook, haha.

Yesterday I went to Giant with the boys and several people smiled and asked about the boys. Then when I left the store I heard: "oh, do you have twins? We are twins!" Two girls in their late twenties -- clearly identical twins -- smiled and waved at Leo and Adrian.

Friday run

When I got home I saw a bag with cookies on the desk and I was tempted to take one and skip my run. As always: I'm glad I didn't do that, it feels great to have run. It was warm but not too humid, quite pleasant actually.
