Dinner with Oma Bosman

We just came back from Oma Bosman. We had a (very delicious) dinner with her. A relaxing evening.

When we came home we saw that the cactus is blooming again!

At Juma

Juma logo.I'm at JUMA now, working on the reports on 2002.

Five years ago I wrote the payment and inventory software for this shop, and they are still using it every day. It's nice to see how this small project worked out.

Most of the reports are generated automatically each month. The official yearly financial and inventory information need some extra attention, so every year in February or March I'll go there. It's very nice to do, the atmosphere is very friendly and relaxed.

Spring!

Spring! This time for sure: the spring has started! Hurray!

It's a very beautiful day here in Haarlem, yesterday as well.

Let's hope we'll have a very nice, warm and sunny summer this year!

Bugs...

Bugs at Gamma. It's very difficult to estimate the truth of the allegations Princess Margarita and her husband made.

The so-called proof that the alledged probe was a "screw" is of course simply a publicity stunt (and a smart one I think).

All this family-squabbling looks pretty horrible to me... People are people, no matter how rich they are.

Voting

It felt a bit weird to go and vote this morning. I was quite sleepy as I've worked till past midnight on my homework assignment... I almost forgot that there were elections today and only when I read "Tuesday March 11" on the voting card I assumed I could go and vote.

What made it made even more strange was that I know only one of the candidates of my party, so there wasn't exactly a lot of choice ;) It's just that these elections have been so little on TV and everything, unlike the previous time.

Frans Hals Museum

Frans Hals Museum.Yesterday we went to the Frans Hals Museum, together with Wouter. Parts of the museum had been renovated, so from 19:30 till 22:00 there was free entrance. They had guides giving short explanations at various paintings, and there was life-music too (Mozart).

Delphi

Although I didn't get my first salary yet we still felt we had something to celebrate. My first working day!

We went to Delphi, a Greek restaurant in Haarlem. We had a really nice evening; there was life-music and the food was very delicious. I think the main reason I like the Greek kitchen so much is that it is so similar to the Bulgarian one.

Friday evening

After another busy week for both of us it's nice to have weekend again. Tried the grill-pan for the first time: it makes wonderful hamburgers.

We played Lost Cities. Sasha didn't know it yet but she won.

Busy

Today and yesterday I've been working on Chapter 4, where some Computational Models are introduced. I incorporated more examples now, to make them more understandable and the text more readable.

I spent more time on the homework assignment than I first estimated so I have to catch up now with the proofreading of my supervisors. I'm working at home -- it's quiet and all my papers are here. In these months I've collected almost 1,5 meter of papers! This afternoon I went to Chess to print a new version a the paper, but also to sign my contract. I had to fill in some forms too. I still know my social-security number (sofi) by hard because of the umpteen times we had to fill it in when working on the farm.

Sunday morning

It's been rather hectic the last few days.

Wednesday to the VU to arrange the last course before I can graduate. Thursday talking about my new job, and Friday Sasha's birthday. Yesterday explaining games in Amsterdam... it's nice that it's Sunday now.

It's very quiet and I'm happy we don't have to go anywhere today. I'll work on the first homework assignment for Internet Programming.
