On Tuesday, May 4th the Ambassador of the Netherlands, Renée Jones-Bos and the Netherlands Defense Attaché, Air Commodore (RNLAF) Tom de Bok of the Royal Netherlands Embassy in Washington, D.C., will place a wreath at the Netherlands Carillon at Arlington, VA. to pay tribute to all Dutch victims of war. Special honour is paid to civilians and to members of the armed forces who lost their lives in the Second World War, and to all Dutch nationals who have lost their lives since, in other wars or in peace operations.

(Washington, D.C.) – On Saturday, May 8th, 10 am - 4 pm, members of the public are invited to visit the Residence of the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands as the Netherlands participates in the 2010 European Union Open House day. Visitors can view artwork including still-lifes, landscapes, and portraits by such 16th and 17th century Dutch masters as Jan van Goyen and Abraham Storck.

Temperature in the 80's, humid, hilly... this was going to be a tough run, no matter what. At 2:41 a girl hit the bridge with her bike and flew in the air, so I called an ambulance and that pretty much ended my run.

Still, great run. Really love Umstead.
